Auxiliary
The Auxiliary plays a vital role in supporting the Fire Company through fundraising, community engagement, and firefighter support services.
Since its early beginnings - when Miss Webster organized community plays to raise funds - the Auxiliary has remained dedicated to providing financial and operational support to the department. Over the years, fundraising efforts have evolved to include a wide range of activities such as calendar sales, first aid kits, pancake breakfasts, and community events like Beef and Beer fundraisers. More recent initiatives have featured specialty items such as candles and wooden replicas of the original firehouse.
One of the Auxiliary’s most significant annual events is Horsham Day. Throughout the day, members support the community by selling food during the fishing contest and continue into the evening by providing glow necklaces ahead of the fireworks display. This event highlights both their fundraising efforts and their strong presence within the community.
In addition to fundraising, the Auxiliary is dedicated to supporting firefighters and their families. They organize and host annual events such as an Easter egg hunt and a Christmas party for children. Past events have also included Breakfast with Santa and Halloween celebrations, reinforcing a strong family-oriented culture within the department.
The Auxiliary also provides operational support during emergency incidents. When requested by the Chief, members can be activated to supply food and refreshments for firefighters during extended operations. A structured phone chain ensures rapid notification and efficient response when their assistance is needed.
Through their continued commitment, the Auxiliary remains an essential part of the Fire Company’s mission, strengthening both department operations and community relationships.
