9/11 Remembrance Ceremony |
|
| Location: | Mission BBQ |
| POC: | Shannon Sperduto-Wong |
| Start Date: | Friday, September 11, 2026 |
| Duration | 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM |
On September 11, 2001, our world changed forever. It is a day that we will NEVER FORGET those Heroes who ran in so that others could run out.
Each year at MISSION BBQ, we make September 11th a very special day. It is our privilege to Honor and Support Our Hometown Heroes. As a small gesture of appreciation, all Firefighters, First Responders, and Police Officers are served a Free Sandwich on this day, whether in or out of uniform. At noon, Philadelphia Fire Chief Tom Kane will sing the National Anthem live, and the American flag will be raised by the Warminster & Hatboro Fire Ladder trucks at our WARMINSTER MISSION BBQ. They will be joined by numerous other 1st Responder vehicles and apparatuses from the surrounding communities at that time. We ask that all attending vehicles be parked no later than 11:30am. Our Anthem ceremony begins promptly at noon. Please join us as we THANK our Firefighters, First Responders, and Police Officers in attendance for what they do for Our Communities. It would be our privilege to SERVE you. Our goal is to fill the parking area with as many 1st Responders as possible, so the community around us will Never Forget the sacrifices that day.
We hope that you will be able to join us!
If you are bringing a vehicle or apparatus, please respond to this email so we can ensure proper parking arrangements.
For the past 10 years, I have been incredibly blessed and honored to have the privilege of supporting our Police, Firefighters, and First Responders throughout the Philadelphia and Bucks County communities. This year’s 9/11 Ceremony will hold an especially meaningful place in my heart, as it will be my last ceremony here in the area before I begin a new chapter and continue supporting our Heroes throughout my new Florida & West Coast MISSION BBQ Region. It is truly difficult to put into words what these past 10 years have meant to me. I have had the honor of standing alongside some of the finest men and women who wear the uniform—people who run toward danger when everyone else is running away. I have witnessed their courage, sacrifice, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the communities they serve. I have stood beside some of you through the hardest of days, as well as the best of celebrations. I am forever grateful for every friendship, every handshake, every hug, every ceremony, and every opportunity to say THANK YOU for all that you do. As I prepare to say goodbye to this Region over the next few months, I hope you will join us this 9/11 as we come together to remember and honor the First Responders who bravely ran in, so others could run out. We will never forget their courage. It has been my greatest honor to serve those who serve us. Proudly serving those who Serve,
